This week has been filled with lots of blessings and I'm definitely staying busy to help pass the time! I was treated to a delicious supper with my aunt and uncle, got to babysit the sweetest little kiddos for a few days, and went to the North American Christian Convention to hear Jon Weece preach. Each day was filled with many good things but Jeremy and I have concluded that we are just better when we're together! I mean, that's exactly what you would hope for, right?! Soooo, when your other half is a couple hundred miles away, you just feel like a part of you is missing. Although I'm hating being apart from my man, the Lord is definitely using this time to draw me closer to Him. I've talked more to God this week than I have in a while and am having to rely on Him to comfort me and keep me company when I'm alone. Just like I've said before, change is never easy but often necessary and beneficial. I'm praying the Lord would use this time apart to help me fall even deeper in love with Him and with Jeremy!
This week, I've resonated with Francesca Battistelli's song, "Strangely Dim" more than ever before. I've heard it on the radio a hundred times but it wasn't until I was driving home the other day and it came on that I really connected with it's lyrics. The lyrics are just awesome and put to words exactly how I've been feeling this past week. My favorite lines in the song say...
I don't know, I don't know
What tomorrow may hold
But I know, but I know
That You're holding it all
So no matter what may come
I'm gonna fix my eyes on all that You are
'Til every doubt I feel
Deep in my heart
Grows strangely dim
Let all my worries fade
And fall to the ground
I'm gonna seek Your face
And not look around
Til the place I'm in
Grows strangely, strangely, strangely dim.
What tomorrow may hold
But I know, but I know
That You're holding it all
So no matter what may come
I'm gonna fix my eyes on all that You are
'Til every doubt I feel
Deep in my heart
Grows strangely dim
Let all my worries fade
And fall to the ground
I'm gonna seek Your face
And not look around
Til the place I'm in
Grows strangely, strangely, strangely dim.
I really love the promise that though I don't know what each day holds, I know the One who does and that He has everything in complete control!
So there's a quick little update on what God has revealed to me this week. He's reminded me not to borrow trouble and worry about the future. He's shown me that He is always with me and has proven His goodness by blessing me with supportive family and friends. And He's taught me to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and I will have all that I need (Matthew 6:33)!
